Part 2 (Part 1 - Part 3)

Does your child have problems with math? At Mega Mathematics,
sponsored by the Los Alamos National Laboratory, your child will
learn math in a fun way - with graphs, games, and colorful
charts. Did you know that a practical application of graph theory
(which is a branch of mathematics that involves the study of
graphs) is to find the best way to route and schedule airplanes
and invent a secret code that no one can crack? This site breaks
down math into logical, usable areas that make sense to us,
rather than have us question why we have to do a certain
mathematical equation that we believe we'll never have to do once
we step outside of the classroom. This site proves us wrong. It
shows how math is used in everyday applications, and it takes
away the "fear" of math. http://www.c3.lanl.gov/mega-math/
As an avid reader myself, it's hard for me to imagine not
enjoying the pleasure of a good book. Some libraries and schools
offer incentives to those who read a certain number of books, and
though it's fun to compete, it's even more fun to have each book
open a whole new world through adventures and tales. So, let's
take this concept to the Internet with a free motivational
reading program for kids in grades K-8. Young readers can create
their own book lists from over 6,000 recommended titles, take
multiple choice quizzes on the books they've read offline, and
earn points and prizes for their literary successes. Sponsored by
the Sylvan Learning Foundation, this is an excellent site to
promote the fun and excitement of reading.http://www.bookadventure.org/
